25 "Reason for leaving Government Service" has been added to

the form of Certificate of Character.

26 "Information of the death of any officer la the Government Service, whether he was engaged in England or locally, who has no relatives in Hongkong, but is known or believed to have near relatives in England, bas to be forthwith telegraphed to the Scerotary of State for the Calories. For this purpose Heads of Departments should, in informing the Colonial Sec- retary of the death of any public officer, state where the deceased was engaged and whether he has relatives either in the Colony or in England."

15. 32(2)The words "or in Asia" have been inserted after the words

"having a silver standard."

16. 35(3)“An Officer acting in a post will draw half his own pay and half the initial pay of the post, in dollars if he is on a dollar salary, in sterling if he is on a sterling salary: provided that he does not suffer any pecuniary loss thereby."

17. 35(8) "When the work of an officer on half pay leave is distributed among two or more members of the same Department and no definite acting appointment is made, the available half salary shall not be divided among members of the Department except in the shape, of overtime allowances, if overtime has to be worked in consequence of the Officer's absence."

41 "(1).--Officers, their wives, or children, requiring medical advice, must apply at the Government Civil Hospital between the hours of 9 A. M. and 10. 30 A. M., Sundays excepted."

"(2)-Bottles to be refilled should be sent to the Hospital between 9 A.M. and 12.30 P.M., Sundays excepted, the accom- panying letter being addressed to The Apothecary, Civil Hospital'."

"(3),--Officers who are treated away from the Hospital by private practitioners cannot be supplied with medicines from the Government Civil Hospital."

(4).-Officers whose yearly salaries are under $3,600, or $2,000 with exchange compensation, or £300 per annum may obtain free medical attendance for themselves, their wives, and chil- dren, in their own homes, when uuable to go to the Govern- ment Civil Hospital for medical advice.”

"(5).-All Public Officers and their wives and children are allowed the privilege of reduced fees when patients in the Government Civil Hospital, the Victoria Hospital, the Govern- ment Lunatic Asylum, the Hospital Hulk "Hygein" or the Kennedy Town Hospital, according to the following scale :---'
